The warm summer months are now just a memory, and chilly fall weather is settling in! As depressing as it is to think the winter is only a few months away, your summer glow can live on through the cold weather. Use these three tips to transition your tan from summer to fall.

1. Moisturizer is your new best friend
Your best chance to maintain your summer tan is to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! It may seem redundant, but there's no better way to keep that beautiful bronze color than slathering on the lotion morning, noon, and night (I love to use coconut oil). As the warm weather starts to fade, apply moisturizer from head to toe at least twice daily. Keeping your skin hydrated prevents your tan from peeling, making it last a few extra weeks.

2. Fake the bake
Once you've milked your natural tan as long as you can, it's time to start considering sunless tanner. In the past, even the best sunless tanner could leave you orange and stripy, but modern sunless tanners offer flawless color without the summer sun. Try a gradual tanner like Jergens Natural Glow + Firming Daily Moisturizer that slowly builds up your color instead of trying to tan all in one go. The slow but steady process of gradually building your tan lets you be in control of your color. Before you start any sunless tanning process, either at home or at the salon, be sure to scrub your entire body with a loofah and exfoliating body wash.

3. When in doubt, bronze it out!
When the cold weather sets in, don't forget about the magic of a little bronzer and blush! To show a rosy glow all through the winter months, sweep bronzer across your cheekbones, nose, and forehead to highlight the areas that are naturally sun-kissed in warmer weather. Finish the look with blush on the apples of your cheeks for a natural look. Enjoy the perks of bronzer and blush, but don't O.D.!
