Mason Jar Sewing Kit with Pincushion

I decided to make a cute lil' mason jar sewing kit with a pincushion to start my declutter-ation! Using a couple items that I found at Michael's I was able to make this leopard print mason jar sewing kit in no time. Now all I need to do is go around and pick up all the dang loose spools of tread?! Here's my easy-peasy mason jar sewing kit dyi.

- Clean mason jar (I used a large one but you can use any size)
- Your favorite fabric
- Glue Gun (or a strong bonding glue like loctite)
- Batting
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Tape
- Needle and thread
Using the lid of the mason jar, draw a circle onto the fabric about 1 inch wider than the jar lid. Cut out the circle.
Place the lid bottom side up directly on top of the middle of the fabric, bottom side up.

Stitch the fabric around the lid, bunching as you go.
Continue in the same manner until only 1/4 of the lid is left as shown below. I used tape to hold the fabric in place as I sewed around the lid.
Stuff batting inside the top of the lid until it’s puffed up and even.
Now sew up the last section of the fabric to the lid.

Make a line of glue along the inside of the outer lid piece. Place the pin cushion through the lid ring as usual.
Now fill the inside of the jar with sewing essential measuring tape, pins, string, embroidery thread, zipper and mini scissors. Screw on the lid and enjoy!
